To active Karaoke Mode, which reduces the vocals of some music:

1	Play an MP3 file. Karaoke mode only works with MP3s.
2	Choose Karaoke from the Mode menu.

Note: Karaoke mode doesn't work on all songs, and may sometimes knock out drums, guitars, or even entire backing tracks along with vocals, depending on how the song was originally recorded. Moreover, your song must be recorded in stereo for Karaoke mode to work. Still, most of the time Karaoke Mode gives you enough reduction to happily sing along to without competing with the original singer.
